Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program

Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT HENDERSON

Mrs. Gooden's kindergarten class is off to a good start this morning. The whole group lesson sets the stage for the entire day.

Mrs. Capers' first graders are singing a song about what they see in trees. After they finish their lesson each day, Mrs. Caper's will display their best work in the hallway for all of us to see.

Ms. Stephens' second graders are busy writing this morning. They are all in deep thought!

Mrs. Horn's third grader is focused on an Accelerated Reader test.

Mr. Smith is progress monitoring one of his fourth grade students. He enjoys teaching all of the fourth grade reading and language arts.

A fourth grader in Ms. Williams' class is engaged in an Accelerated Reader book.

Ms. Mann's class is busy preparing for the writing assessment. They plan to do well!

HOW HAVE WE IMPLEMENTED TECHNOLOGY? WE ARE ON THE MOVE.....

Our first six weeks honor roll field trip was to Anniston Musuem to meet "Sue". All A and AB honor roll students were allowed to go. Our next field trip will be November 14 to McWane Center.
