Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program

Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."

RED RIBBON WEEK

Last week at Henderson the faculty, staff, and students celebrated Red Ribbon Week.
Each day, a different message was delivered. We also were very fortunate to have two very informative speakers. Mrs. Fran Storey and Ms. Tabitha Embry, First Family Services, and Mr. Patrick Thornton, Talladega Drug Force, both spoke to our 4th-6th grade students about drugs and making good decisions.
MONDAY was "Sock it to Drugs Day!" Students were encouraged to wear silly or mismatched socks.

TUESDAY everyone was encouraged to wear their Patriotic Colors.
WEDNESDAY everyone wore RED.
THURSDAY everyone wore their favorite necktie.

Ms. Gaskin & Ms. Joiner look great sporting their tie's.

Mr. Smith & Ms Williams look quiet intelligent, I must say.

FRIDAY was our favorite day..."TEAM SPIRIT DAY!" We had a lot of team spirit & we were all looking forward to the weekend.

Mrs. Laros, looking "tired" in her Orange & Blue! It has been a long week!

We can't forget our THS Spirit! GO TIGERS!

Special thanks to Ms. Tabitha Embry & Mrs. Fran Storey from 1st Family Services for speaking to our students about drugs and to Mr. Patrick Thornton from Talladega Drug Force. The students had very interesting questions for Patrick.
