I know all of you are well rested and ready to return to school.
I am very excited about our upcoming school year. We now have all of our staff members in place! Unfortunately, we lost Mrs. Brooks to R.L. Young; however, we are getting an excited young lady, Mrs. Sabrina Williard, in our 3rd grade position. Please welcome her and make her feel at home!
Many of you are ahead of the game and have your classrooms looking great! I am proud for you. Unfortunately, my office is upside down but I am working long hours trying to get it back in order.
Congratulations to Mr. Berry - Pilot Club Teacher of the Year. He received money to spend in his classroom. I hope all of you saw the recent article in the paper! We appreciate Mrs. Lehe for nominating him. When you see her, please thank her in person.
Shane, Brady, and I enjoyed our trip to Tybee Island, GA last week. Shane and I ate too much and Brady enjoyed swimming and playing with cousins. He wasn't too excited about the restaurants and being required to sit while we all ate. We stayed in a beautiful 3 story home and Brady loved the stairs and elevator. He also enjoyed running 90 to nothing around the porch on both levels. Needless to say, he had a great time! The peacefulness and relaxation was my favorite. I simply enjoyed doing nothing!
Summer school has ended and I am now in and out of the office. You are welcome to come any day to work in your room. If you can't reach me at school, you may call my home or cell.

Hal Henderson Elementary is a "TIGGERIFIC SCHOOL!" Student learning is enhanced daily through the use of advanced technology. All of our teachers are "highly qualified!"
Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program
Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."
