Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program

Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."

I AM BACK AT WORK!!

I am back at work. This photo is me at home with both children, planning two birthday parties in June, and trapped in the house basically for three weeks. In other words, I am now at PEACE! If any of you would like to work in your classrooms, please feel free to come at any time.

I will be on vacation during the week of July 20-24, 2009. Shane, the boys, and I are going to Destin for a week. I need some rest and relaxation before Brady begins pre-k. I may loose my mind.....

I hope all of you are having a wonderful, restful, and eventful summer. Mr. Berry, Mrs. Clay, and I went to Nuts and Bolts Symposium in June so we have some wonderful new ideas to share with you.

Mrs. Curvin, Mrs. Gooden, and Mrs. Williard all got new whiteboards in their classroom. Ms. Deese got her air conditioner moved as she requested. The lunchroom will be painted beginning Monday. Mr. Wilson and Mrs. Jesse have the building looking awesome.

I am excited about the upcoming year and look forward to seeing all of you very soon!

I will be posting the agenda for the three professional development days soon. You will also receive a webcast call from the Central Office regarding times and agenda for August 5, 2009. If you have questions, please call me at the office or on my cell. You can also e-mail me if you can't get me on the phone.

Enjoy your last three weeks!
