Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program

Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."

THANKS FOR BEING WONDERFUL!!!!

Wow, you all did it again! I can't tell you how proud I am to be part of Hal Henderson Elementary faculty and staff. Each day, some or all of you do many things that make me proud to be a "Tiggerific" team member. The commitment to our school and our children is so amazing. God always places people in the right setting. All of you truly are a "gift from God."

Boss's Day was over the top. I was overwhelmed with gifts, sweet cards, flowers, snacks, cake, diet dr. pepper, etc. You always go above and beyond. Again, I thank all of you for a wonderful day on Friday.

Most of all, I want to thank each of you for your effort, hard work, and dedication to our school. Your attendance at the Parent Extravaganza tonight says a lot about your school pride and dedication to your profession. Teamwork is the difference between good and great. You all did a GREAT job. For those of you who came - thanks so much! You are appreciated! For those of you who stayed from beginning to end, decorated, took pictures, got balloons, ordered the cake, etc - you are amazing - we couldn't survive without you. Our table was outstanding. The message was awesome - Exceding our Goal! In my opinion, each of you have already exceeded the goal in many ways. You are a hard working crew with a common goal and you make my job so easy. Again, thank you for all you do - YOU ARE THE BEST.

Thanks Mrs. Clay and Mrs. Horn for agreeing to do the Study Island presentation. I know you did a great job. You represented Hal Henderson well. Study Island representatives would have been very proud.

Thanks also to the parents and students who attended tonight. We have a small but dedicated community, and I appreciate the participation from all - teachers, staff, parents, community leaders, friends, and students. Together, we can and will make a difference in the lives of our children!

A very special thanks to the community leaders who donated door prizes for the Parent Extravaganza - Becky Griffin at Griffin's Jewelers, Brian York at York Wireless, Wallace Fincher at Fincher's Delite, Donnie Miller at Miller's BBQ, and Laura Campbell at Campbell's BBQ. We appreciate your continuous support of Talladega City Schools, specifically Hal Henderson Elementary.

Mrs. Hannah, please work your magic and include some pictures from the Extravaganza with this post. Again, a very special thank you to S. Haney, M. Barksdale, C. Hannah, J. Seals, K. Clay, C. Williams, A. Capers, S. Williard, T. Horn, and B. Taylor. You created magic tonight and I was happy to be a small part.

Keep up the amazing work!
