Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program

Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."

Have you ever wondered what it's like to spend a day in PRE-K?

Henderson's pre-k program is off to a great start! Our 4-year olds are working hard to learn routines and procedures. This week our theme was "Welcome to School". We learned about things in our classroom and our school. In math, we learned our colors. The centers provide opportunities for students to practice what they have learned using manipulatives, books, writing tools, computers, etc. It's a busy day in pre-k so we nap for an hour to rest our minds. After our restful nap, we are off again to learning in our centers. At the end of the day, we are proud to see our parents so we can share our exciting day.
