"The classroom teacher is the single most important factor in giving students a quality education."
Something to think about...
1. "Instilling confidence is a vital key to learning and development."
2. Remember - building a student's confidence leads to improved effort.
3. What can you do to strengthen your own sense of power to influence student learning?
4. Think of creative ways you can collaborate with your coworkers to build a sense of shared power that helps students overcome obstacles.
5. Do you "turn over every rock" to reach students?
With the end of the year only days away, please know that you are a "vital key to student learning and development." Those students who are on the border line of passing, need that extra "nudge". Please work independently with them in an effort to give them the confidence they need to improve their effort enough to get over the edge. As stated in #5, always "turn over every rock" to reach all students. Guide students in working toward a goal - academic success in all subjects.
Please keep in mind that school is NOT out! You have course of study objectives and remediation skills that must be taught. Teaching until the last day of school will prevent discipline problems within your classroom. Students who have idle minds can find "interesting" things to do. Also, please do not allow students out of your classroom to run up and down the hallways. Keep them busy!!!!

The Talladega City Schools Foundation Appreciation Dinner will be Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Talladega High School. Tickets are $15.00 per person - I have tickets in my office for those of you who would like to attend. If you wrote a foundation grant, I encourage you to attend the dinner - grants will be awarded at that time. I plan to attend and I hope that many of you will join me. I would love for our school to show our appreciation to the Foundation by attending this annual dinner. Please see me ASAP for a ticket.

I am very pleased to announce that Samira's message will be on a local bill board displaying her very own design and our school name. The bill board is located on Battle Street across the street from the Daily Home. It will be up on April 25 - check it out!!!!

Field Day is just around the corner! Thank you, Mrs. Haney and committee for planning the event. Thanks to all of you who have worked diligently to get donations for this event. I appreciate all of your hard work in this area and I know our students will enjoy this annual event.
