Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program

Hal Henderson is home of the Talladega City Schools Pre-K Program. Mrs. Angela Capers, a "highly qualified" teacher with exceptional talents, developed the program during the 2008-2009 academic year. Mrs. Karen Graves, a "highly qualified" paraprofessional, works collaboratively with the 2010-2011 teacher, Mrs. Patricia Cook, to continously move the program forward. Mrs. Cook was previously our State Department of Education Technical Assistant who evaluated our program. We have 18 students enrolled in Pre-K. I am also pleased to announce that our site has been recognized by the State Department of Education as "exemplary."

January 2 Professional Development Schedule

Here is the schedule for our January 2, 2007 Professional Development Day:

8:00-10:30 - Math Workshop for Grades K-3 - R.L. Young Auditorium

8:00-11:00 - Makes Sense Strategies Workshop for selected teachers

10:30-12:00 - Follow-up from New Teacher Orientation

Take "Positive Behavior Supports" critical question responses and assessment
pages that were given out at new-teacher orientation.

12:30-3:00 - Math Workshop for Grades 3-6 - R.L. Young Auditorium

Teachers in 4-6 not teaching math are not required to attend!

1:00-3:00 - Monitoring and various aspects of SETS - Kemp Only!!!!!

Sandy and I will also attempt to schedule data meetings for this day. We are working around many different schedules so we will send data meeting information to you by e-mail.
While looking at this site, please look at the title "Letters to Santa." The deadline is December 14, 2006, so if you are interested in this creative writing assignment, please get started today.

People are often hesitant to work with a business coach because they are not sure what to expect. Well, at the most basic level, the coach is there for support. A coach never tells you what to do. They just prompt and encourage.
